your mileage will get noticably better around 5-7k miles. there is alot to your driving too that makes a big difference. when your on the freeway, hit the cruise, or stay at around the same speed. hittin the gas to get around traffic will make your mileage go down. and when your in the city, quick accelerations will make it go down, even if you have a manual. the more you press the gas down, the richer the ecu makes the mixture (to a certain point).

RTexas: How did you hit 37MPG? The most I have been able to get is 31.5. I have 06 accord, 4cyl, auto & since it is winter am not using the A/C.

Too many factors to consider - traffic, temperature, driving habits, terrain, fuel brand, stick vs auto, on & on. On level ground Ican shift to 4th @30MPH and 5th @40MPH with no engine lug. Getting to a higher gear as soon as possible, providing you don't lug the engine, is always beneficial.

on my 94 Accord EX I'm only getting about 27-28 mpg around my small town so I would expect to see all of the new vehicles increase some gas mileage over the next few thousand miles... and I would get that Fuel Warning light looked at while it's under warranty

HaHA! Not this time. The road is fairly flat and I drove the speed limit and used cruise control. There is a gent named Xcel, a hypermiler, who regularly gets over 50 MPG with his 7th gen 4 cyl automatic!! He would laugh at only getting 37+. He and two other gents exceeded 100MPG in a hybrid.

I get about 34MPG (UK Gallon=4.5Litres). That is in traffic on the motorway (highway) and the odd 80MPH when it clears. I get about 400 miles max on a tank.
