Hi All... 03 EX-L Sedan
Hi All,
Just thought I'd introduce myself since I just signed up to this forum. I've been a "guest" on this forum for a long time but never really signed on. I always see a post I'd like to reply to but can't. Guess what, today I signed to both of the forums I frequent alot. This one and one for car audio.
My 03' Accord EX-L Sedan is my second Honda (Third car total). Both cars I've actually bought myself have been Hondas. First one was a Chevy Celebrity that my dad gave me.
My Civic (EX)was pretty sweet. It was a 93 which I got in 97. I tinted the windows (was living in AZ at the time), lowered it1.5" in front and 1.2" in rear, puts some nice 18" rims with 40mm tires, and began upgrading the stereo. The stereo went through two revisions, the first one being the budget-still-in-college version and the graduated-got-a-signing-bonus version. The latter was definitely the best. Back then I really didn't know too much about car audio other than how to wire things up. It was really loud but the sound quality wasn't really that good (imaging was off and it wasn't smooth and balanced).
In '01 or '02,I had a chance to go to England for a few weeks and while I was there I saw this really cool looking Honda. I went online and found out it was an Accord and it was out already over there. It wouldn't be out in the US until the 2003 model. I was interested in buying one but still liked drivingmy Civic. UNTIL the day I walked out of the mall, just having done some Christmas shopping, to found out that my car was missing. Yup, stolen, stripped, and forever changed. When they found it, it was just sitting on the ground. When I first saw it at the police impound, sitting on the ground, I just wanted to leave it there and walk away.
Anyway, the next week I drove my insurance-provided rental to the Honda Dealership and picked up my new 03 Accord Sold the Civic and moved on.
I haven't quite done much to the Accord since now I'm on a wife-kid-mortgage-single-income budget. Just tinted the windows again and put in an amp/woofer. Single 12" Kicker Comp. I don't need too much bass, just enough to make for all that road noise takes away... and a little more for fun
Lately I've been noticed some squeaks, rattles, and vibrations that have the sub in the car may have contributed so I'm planning on doing some sound deadening. I need to find a nice trunk liner (you know, the thing that goes on the inside of the trunk lid - if you know where I can find one, let me know please).
Pictures coming soon.
Thanks,
Ashur
