Default Honda noob........

I've been messing with cars since high school in the '50's and just retired from running a shop for 21 years. This Honda, however, is my first ever non Ford/Chev/Mopar car. My shop experience also was big 3 only. So, this is a new ball game for me. The car is a 2000 Accord coupe V6 auto. So far I'm favorably impressed with most everything about the car and hope to enjoy it for a few years.
Looking forward to digging up info from this forum and may be able to contribute a little as well.

welcome to the forum and thanks for joining.... lots of good stuff on here and a few mechanics that do it for a living.... Just a warning but keep an eye on that tranny (not to scare you) but they are more prone to problems, If memory serves late 90's dodge trucks had a tranny problem and if it was going to happen, it did so quickly otherwise you were fine.... this is the same scenario so just a heads up

Pretty much all Mopars had a bad tranny issue in the 90's. We had a Plymouth voyager, had the tranny rebuilt, then it went out 4 or so years later, and we have a 92 Dodge Spirit with 143,xxx miles on it and it will still snap your head! One time it overheated and went into safe mode. After putting on an external tranny cooler (which solves the tranny prob. because their wasnt adequate tranny fluid to keep the temp down) its never given us problems and has been the best car we've owned so far. (Sorry for off topic)

Welcome to the forum! Your knowledge will be very helpful to many!
