Just turned in 05 Acura TL early (lease is up in Dec 08) last night to get a black EX-L coupe...They didn't have one in stock, but said they will have one for me on Monday, so they gave me a brand new 08 EX sedan as a loaner until then...

Prior to the 05 TL, I had a 2000 TL and a 1999 Prelude...guess I have thing for Hondas or something...looking forward to the cheaper monthly payment and buying regular unleaded gas again..

 

So how do you like the new 08 coupe? I currently have a 05 sedan and I'm ready to trade it in on a six speed coupe. I think the black coupe looks great. Did you get the manual or automatic transmission?

 

I should get the car on Monday...when I test drove them on Friday, I was pleasantly surprised with the car overall...(and this was coming from a 2005 TL owner)...

I got the AT...don't feel doing all the shifting in Dallas traffic during rush hour...

 

I thought about checking out the TL as well. Were the Honda dealerships dealing, were they willing to get you out of your TL lease without any negative equity? My lease on my 05 is up in August. Do you feelthe coupe has better performance than the TL?

 

Welcome to the site. I also have recently bought an '08 coupe and have had many Hondas in the past including an Acura CL Type S.

still had 9 more payments to go on the TL, so they tacked on about $1400 to the lease...(my payments were $466/month on the TL = 48 months w/ 15K miles per year)...

they had to pick up the car from another local dealer, but it already had the rubber trunk mat and the color matched door protectors...

Pretty sure that I will be very happy with this car...

the coupe does have a lighter feel to it...but performancewise, I really didn't push the TL (cornering, etc)...the coupe does have a lot of pep though...
