New Guy - buying Accord this weekend.
Hi guys -
Just found this forum and figured I would ask a couple questions about the Accord before I pulled the trigger on one this weekend. I will be coming out of 1997 Saab 900SE Turbo 5-speed. The car is for my wife and myself and we are looking at the value package model. MSRP is $19,025 and Invoice is $17,132 per Edmunds.com. I am looking to do a 3 year/15k per/year lease and I am wondering what a good payment should be.
Also, I know the next model is the LX - I am not too concerned with value package model as I know the only differences between the VP and LX are illuminated steering wheel buttons, power mirrors, 2 rear speakers and alloy wheels. The wheels I buy off of ebay and I can always put in some extra speakers.
So basically I was just asking everyone's epinions on the car, a reasonable lease price and what I should or should not put out of pocket.
Any help would be apprieciated as well as any additionals comments
Thank you - Mike

RE: New Guy - buying Accord this weekend.
leases can be tricky. I would never lease myself. There can be a many hidden details and the milage restrictions are too great for me. ALso with lease cars you have to return them in stoc condition and you may be fined if you do bolt ons.
LX-V6 starts at 25,200 I would go that route first IMHO but I would definately look at LX as starting point

LX-V6 basically adds V6 to above and that is the car I would buy

RE: New Guy - buying Accord this weekend.
I'm not concerned about doing any modifications to the car - I have few old musclecars if I need a speed fix and the Accord will be only be used basic daily transport and on the weekends. I am trying to go the cheapest way possible and still get into an Accord, that is why the VP really appealed to me.
I test drove the 4-cylinder and it was fine for around town and on the highway - plus I like the fuel mileage. I have also leased before and with no problems, so that does not really concern me.
