Non metallic Boot Rattle.
This is my first posting, the quality of the replies to the questions raised by the members encouraged me to join.
Purchased new December 1998 - still in show room condition - Accord 1.8i LS automatic 69,000 miles, serviced on schedule by Honda dealer.
Driving at a slow speed on an uneven surface there is an audible noise in the rear of the car - could be likened to a few golf ***** in a box. The boot has been stripped out, the exhaust checked for loose baffles and mounts, also the car has been jacked up on the chassis and the rear suspension checked for worn bushes etc, needless to say I still have the noise.
Is it possible there could be some movement within the parcel shelf, if so how to remedy ?

My first thought would be something loose down in the spare-tire well. The jack? Lug-wrench? I don't know all the details of what's different with UK Accords.
But you might have to convince a trusting friend to ride inside the boot & pinpoint the location of the sound.
When the car is on it's tires, grab a rear tire at the top & shake violently side-to-side. Sometimes a loose component will not appear loose when the car is on a lift & the suspension is fully extended.
How about something underneath the rear seat? Lost any golf ***** down there?

On USA Accords, the seat bottom is held in with a single bolt buried in the crack between seat bottom & seat back. I think it's a bit left of center (left side of car like you're facing forwards). Then you slide the seat bottom a bit forwards & unhook the front.
Below the rear seat bottom is sheet-metal which would allow golf-***** to roll & bounce around.
