Where Do I Service?
Hi Friends,
I am new to this forum. My 2001 Accord has completed about 40K miles and is is pretty decent condition. However my dealer has been charging me a lot for maintenance every 6 months which averages to about $500 per scheduled maintenance.
Since the vehicle no longer has any warranty I plan on going to Jiffy Lube etc to avoid the dealer ripping me off.
Will anyone in the Fairfax, Virginia area know who would be a good service agent? How do I find a good service area?
Thanks in adv.

RE: Where Do I Service?
I could provide a few horror stories concerning instant lube places such as overfills, under fills, and once no oil at ALL!! This was back before (MANY years ago) I decided to do things myself to assure they were done correctly and at a considerable cost savings to boot.
If you're not a do it yourselfer I would advise that you seek out an established privately owned garage/shop to handle your work.
Ask friends, neighbors, relatives, and co-workers where they get their cars serviced, how long they have used them and their satisfaction level. I assure you that it will be worth the effort in the long run.
