Got a question about turbo-ing a '90.
Would it be better to Turbo my stock '90 LX, or should i invest in a K20 or H22A then turbo?
I just installed a full catback exhaust. Manifold will need to be new i know, but what is your guy's opinions?

Honestly, I don't plan on doing this until i have at least $5000. Not too long and i'll hit that mark.
Ok. So my whp goal is 500.
Which engine would cause more headaches with mounts and the ECU?

500whp for $5,000........unlikely, not matter what engine you go with, in order to make that much power you are talking full motor build, forged internals etc. All have the potential to, K20 swap is the most expensive just for the swap, engine is the most expensive, mounts are like $800 alone for it. However have seen K series make 1000hp.

With the first budget is just for a swap. I'm thinking the H22
But should i get JDM?
Once I get the motor in and working I'll run that for a while until I know I have the money for the turbo.
Another question.
You got a link to see these K-series making 1000?
Thats just insane to think about.

5000 fora swap is def doing, I personally have a H22a4, whether to go JDM is up for debate. The engine imports all say 35,000miles on the motors, but I will tell you right now they are full of it and have no idea how many miles are on it. and the H22a only makes 10hp over the h22a1 and 5 over the H22a4, which those can easily be made up with bolt ons, so its really up to you.
sure, here is a civic that dynoed at 909whp I believe.

I'm thinking doing full JDM motor though...
I've heard the price is outrageous though...
I just looked one up on passwordJDM and its about 2000 alone for motor.
H22a4.... Whats the whp on that?
Thanks for the link... Insane.

H22a4 makes 195 to the crank, so like 165ish to the wheels.
$2000 is more than it should be, password has always been expensive.
There really isnt much difference between the H22a and the a1 and a4, it has slightly higher compression(not even a full number, its like .6:1 higher). thats about it.
Its cool to say you have a JDM motor, but thats about it.
Now if your talking about the JDM type-s than 2000 is a good deal, but i'm guessing your not, that makes 220hp to the crank stock.
for example I paid $1000 for my H22a4 and $500 for my JDM LSD tranny

Mind letting me know where you found those?
I've been doing that Ebay shopping thing haha!
I figured password would be.
Whats the ECU situation switching from the F22 thats in there(I believe)
to the H22a4?

RE: Got a question about turbo-ing a
I got them both off craigslist(risky business), the motor has since crapped the bed, and I am pulling it in the next few weeks.
there are a few other imports such as
hmotorsonline.com(expensive, but customer service is amazing)
tigerjapanese.com(cheap, but heard mixed reviews)
I am running a chipped p28 with Hondata.
chipped is really the way to go as opposed to getting a stock h22 ecu.
