5speed auto?? it’s one or the other..if it’s a auto then it should only have 4 gears. If you are auto don’t even bother turbo your car. You tranny can’t handle it. What do you mean you are waiting for vtec?? Head swap? I donno much about the older accord but I’m sure they didn’t have DOHC engines in them. They were prob. SOHC engines..witch SOHC vtec is pointless!!! I donno why ppl think if it has vtec its fast cus SOHC vtec has nothing to do with performance its all about fuel economy. You might want to rethink your plan for your car. Cus if your gonna drop 3k for a turbo set up (yes that how much it cost to boost a car and that’s more or less on the LOW side of how much you SHOULD spend to boost a car) Then you need to swap your auto tranny out for a 5speed manual tranny. Also with that many miles I wouldn’t start adding anymore power over stock your just asking for failure. If you wanna boost I’d say do a full engine and tranny swap then start thinking about adding a turbo kit.

^^^^^ cant agree more.
adding boost, especially on a budget is a big tricky game. you need to have lots of knowledge and skills under your belt if you want this. personally if the car itself is physically in really good shape and you really like it then go for an engine swap. the A series doesn't have much of an after market. Id say at least get yourself a low mileage engine from a 90-93 accord and swap it in. its a better engine and will make more power stock. also cheap and very easy to find.
