In that picture, I see that there is no intercooler installed...filter is directly put on the turbo sucking hot air in and forces into engine right away without going through intercooler...
But in the description it says wastegate and BOV is included...
how hard is it to get the intercooler and turbo fitted?
And how do you get it Tuned?
you don't have to do it when you put CAI, but why do it for turbo?
Can you keep stock exhaust with the turbo?

 

Mike, you have a lot af reading to do my man! CAI generally doesn't need a tuneing because it doesn't change the way the engine works. An intercooler kit is usually separate from the turbo kit. The exhaust powers the turbo, so stock will not work. Tuning is done on a dyno with a wide-band O2. The A/F mixture is set up first and then modified to produce the best dyno map possible.

Yes, I know that exhaust powers the turbo, but don't you usually locate the intake filter away from the engine so it sucks up coldER air?
So air goes through turbo, heats up a little, forced into intercooler, cools down a little, then go into the engine through throttle body?
but in those pictures, there is no intercooler piping.
wouldn't turbo w/o intercooler heat up too much?
And thank you for the answer about the a/f ratio tuning.
so turbo gives boost once you put on and you get it tuned only to make it work the best?

the A/F has to be a little rich for the turbo ..... you don't ever want the engine to run lean because it will make the exhaust heat up and brake things ...... also, the MAF doesn't read accurately since it is tuned for NA ..... typically a turbo setup will be tuned around 12.8 AF as opposed to a NA setup that is tuned around 13.3 ...... 14.7 is stochiometric and if this is ever reached, you are pretty lean since fuel condenses on the cylinder walls. 14.7 in the exhaust stream is like 15 and change in the combustion chamber.

What you said about the filter location is correct, but not necessary. Motorcycle turbos usually have the filter right on the turbo.

Falkore, ur the man! what do u do for a living???? must be something to do w/ cars! i didn't knew that much about the a/f mixture... (the temp difference and the correct #'s....)

 

There is no way those turbo kits will bit both the I4 and V6.

 

So did anyone find out if that will fit the i4 or the v6 or both? I just talked to carters racing in savannah GA and they said custom fabbing a turbo kit on my v6 was going to be from $10-$15K. Sounds like a rip off to me. What do u guys think?

 

It will not fit both the v6 and the 4cyl. No way, ever.

And yes that is a bit of a rip off.
