Turbocharger FX Kit
What do you think when watching the video on http://soundturbocharged.com/ ? The sound sounds really cool but I was thinkin even though its a good mimic to the REAL turbocharger...it will take away your power. The problem is that this unit is placed @ the tip of your muffler...if its blocked, just to have this sound...this will slow down the air pressure from the exhaust and who knows what could happen. Any of you think the sound is a good tradeoff for less performance? Thanks

RE: Turbocharger FX Kit
More backpressure in the exhaust system so, less performance as you said plus, you could be putting that money towards a real turbocharger system that will increase your car's power dramatically or other performance parts. Seems like a no brainer man.

I seriously need to get some sound or video clips of my accord's turbo. It doesn't sound like that at all.
That sounds like a stock Jetta or something. Add that on top of the decreased performance and you have one pointless product.
It's funny, they say "Why spend $4000 for a turbo kit when you can have this for $17.95?" Uhh because I actually want more power maybe? and I spent less than half that anyway....
And on a final note, you don't get the glorious blow off valve sound. That's the real head turner.

Hey mbo, it would be sweet if you can actually get a clip of your cars turbo and stuff. You know exactly how much HP is increased and is it possible on a manual trans? I really wanted REAL turbo but im a student...no money for that so thought a sound that sounds cool is good enough for now. What type of SRI do you recommend since that is for sure to increase performance. Something that sounds nice...not noisy or anything, yet gives nice performance. I couldn't go for AEM or any of those cuz my budget is short...something around $80 and less. Thanks

RE: Turbocharger FX Kit
I've been meaning to get some video or something of it up here. just been to busy with other stuff I guess. I'll get some eventually though, trust me. I can't be exact with the horsepower numbers, but at about 8 psi I think I was around 240 at the crank. I backed off to 6 because I'm on stock injectors, but it's still one mean car. I'm a student too and I was only working part time when I started the turbo kit, so I pieced it together one thing at a time. That way I was only paying a little bit a month untill I had everything. Saved a lot, too.
Anyways, for SRIs, you may find a cheap one on ebay, but I can't guarentee the quality and performance of it. And SRIs do tend to be on the louder side. I would probably save up for a good one. You could always make one if you have some piping...

Just something to add about the SRI, brand name or ebay, it has been said in this forum to look for the filter that has the open end on it. I'm on a budget too and I ordered one of those cheap ebay filters with the open filter element on the end. It might not be the best but it will be less restrictive than the stock airbox. BUT when it comes to other aspects of performance I would not skimp on the price, you get what you pay for especially when it comes to products that require craftmanship and real results.

I am looking @ the Bomz SRI right now on eBay because someone recommended that. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BOMZ-...spagenameZWDVW
Do you think this is a good SRI and if I add the heat shield: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AIR-F...26237991QQrdZ1
to it...does anyone recommend that? Thanks

RE: Turbocharger FX Kit
I would say that I would agree with that choice. The set up I bought looked exactly the same with same hardware but not bomz. I installed today and only had a few issues to deal with such as: generic instructions not specefic for my make and model but hey, its an sri how hard is that to install, I had to remove some plastic pressure measure type box so the intake had a place to lay, and I went out and bought a second hose clamp to secure the intake pipe to the rubber connecting hose that attaches to the throttle body. I might not need the extra clamp on there but I didn't want to chance having it come apart down the road for any reason. My kit also came with those metal brackets that are pictured with your kit, just not sure what they do. If you know or someone else here knows, please tell me!
On another note, I don't notice anymore power than usual just better throttle response and an intimidating sound when I get on the gas. Happy with my $10 intake kit.

Slusher, your intake Kit cost only $10? Wow. I see. What they advertise is a 7 - 13HP gain but I guess 5HP gain would be right but since thats so small in ratio compared to the stock 200HP Accord V6, you can't tell much difference. I think as long as you get a LITTLE better gas and it sounds great...its all good. The bracket I see online is said to be a "heat shield". Its supposedly to block off the hot air from comming through the filter but thats what they say. I needed to get suggestions here to see if thats what it really does or just another waste of bucks.
Everyone, can you put some kind of lining inside the pipe to make it MORE smooth so air flow inside the tube can be more efficient and air flows faster w/o friction? I think that will help but I dunno. Please help. Thanks
