a speaker and an electronic circuit that reads the shift of the transmission, as well as an audio chip with the sound burnt on it, otherwise you HAVE to have a turbo, but once again, why would you want a sound that isnt the real thing? If anything you would be made fun of for not actually having a turbo and meet the qualifications of the stereotype of all show and no go.

Totally agree with Marbro. All you need is some punk to challenge you and you look like a fool. (Note: I do not promote illegal racing in anyway shape or form; 458796) Looks are the last thing that I am going to do to my car because I want it to be fast not just sound or look fast. You can pickup a turbo kit for around $3600 or make one yourself. I'm pleading with you to do it right becuase I see so many posers out there and I know that they've got nothing

Haha....whats the point of spending $3500 when all I want is the sound? I don't want to race anyways so no point in turboing anything...stupid get pulled over and if you have TURBO...ur TENDED to race regardless. Who cares if people want to race...you don't have to do as they please. Looks is usually about EVERYTHING...people look @ a well customed looking car rather than some junk dented civic thats supercharged right? I mean...there are some cars I see that has a really nice lookin engine but who KNOWS...its under the hood, yet people look @ my car more...so you see...its the looks. Haha

If it looks and sound are more important to you, then go for it. I guess I'm just different, if my car looks fast and isn't, that would bother me. I don't race people either but if someone likes the look on the outside they might want to take a look under the hood as well.
Whatever floats your boat.

True True...but hey. New subject!!!

Anyone know how to make that smoke/fog thing come out of the cars hood when it above to drive off? Its not a burnout but the smoke that comes out looks like it is. Its like a fog machine shooting out of both sides of the hood through small tubings...looks cool but dunno what it is or what u need for it.

Thanks

Sounds to me like your referring to a nitrous purge.

this is a question that i have wanted to ask for a while, and its probably already been answered in another thread, but rather than dredge an old one up id rather post it in an active thread. The life span on the engine, and the wear that a turbo puts on an engine, is it all hype? or true. Because my 04 Accord is my only car, and i havent payed it off yet. So it'd be a shame to blow the engine. Granted if that happened then id buy faster one. id like to prolong the life of this one as long as i can. So my question is how harsh is a turbo on the engine? And if/when i do it should i upgrade the gaskets and such. Before i do the turbo i will already have an exhaust and headers installed. Also question on intake manifolds, any point in geting a different one if im gonna change it when i do the turbo?

Well, I think your stock intake manifold will be fine. According to Corkey bell, if a turbo is done right you can still expect 90% engine life, which I was pretty impressed with. It has something to do with the inertial/power load not growing at the same rate as the increased boost pressure (ex, the power load doesnt increase by 50% if your running 7psi). At low boost there is little chance you'll have engine problems on that new engine, but your warranty will be out the window. There will be no need for a header since the turbo manifold replaces it, then the downpipe connects it to the cat/exhaust system. If you're really interested in going forced induction there are a few people who know alot more (from experience especially) than i do.

As far as the nitrous purge goes, to my understanding, it's just an accessory for a nitrous kit used to clear any air from the lines, allowing the nitrous to get to the engine quicker and more concentrated, so quicker response. A typical nitrous kit will run you about 500-700 dollars. The purge is like 100. They do have a fake purge kit but, I really really don't think it's worth it being it's about 200dollars, like 1/3 of the price of a real kit. If you going to do a nitrous kit, make sure you don't skimp on the solenoids.

I turbo'd my accord with over 140K on it. The motor was in good condition before the install and I had already switched to mobil1 2 years before. I haven't replaced any gaskets or rings or anything like that and the motor still screams. It's awesome.
