Tom...if the REAL kit is about 500-700...thats a lot better than just the fake purge kit or whatever. Haha. But the big question is...how well does it work...how is it compared to a turbo kit and how much boost in REAL HP can I get from this kit? Do you think I should try eBay for these things? I have a 105,000Mi. engine so I just wondering of Nitro Kit or NOS will hurt my engine or whatnot...I also don't know what you ment by "make sure you don't skimp on the solenoids. "??? I know theres a lot of questions but im 100% new to Nitro kits and I appreciate the time you spend to teach me something new. Haha. Thank you!!!

Alright, here we go...
Well, with a nitrous kit your looking at running probably no more than a 50 shot safely. By 50 shot I mean, a 50hp and 50tq increase. As far as judging whats safe on stock internals, there are two different ways people view it: either 15-20hp per cylinder safely, or half of the engines whp safely. With an accord that comes out to about 60 either way. The way nitrous does this is, it contains more oxygen so, you can mix in more fuel to create more power. Nitrous oxide is put into the combustion chamber a few different ways. There are dry shots and wet shots.
1) A dry shot is strictly nitrous and is put in before the MAF sensor. The MAF sensor registers the increase in oxygen and so injects more fuel creating the added power.
2) A wet shot is nitrous mixed with gas (hence wet), and is injected after the MAF.

The basic components of a nitrous kit are the bottle, which holds the nitrous and which you can get a few accessories for. For example, you can get a bottle heater and remote opener for it. Then there is the line that runs the nitrous to the solenoid, then jets to allow a certain amount of nitrous out for the certain amount of tq and hp you want. The solenoid is hooked up to a TPS switch which monitors throttle position. This will allow nitrous to be injected only if your at WOT and you've got it switched on. When I said don't skimp of the solenoid, I mean make sure you get a good one. That solenoid is openned to allow nitrous to flow in, and closed to stop it. If the solenoid buckles and does not close your gonna have a bad time. Beyond that I don't know too much more. I just kindof know the basics. I have a buddy who knows a ton about it if you have any in depth questions.

As far as my opinion on nitrous, I like to have power (in example a turbo) that I don't have to refill. Also, there is debate that nitrous can be harmful. I could make another post twice as long about what the advocates say as well as the other side but, i think I've probably typed enough. In my opinion, if you use it properly and don't use it in excess, you'll more than likely be fine provided you don't have any previous engine problems.

If you want to learn alot more then heres a site for ya: http://www.nitrouskits.co.uk/Technical/work-safe.htm

for a 10 pound bottle it's about $45 or $50 around where I live. You can keep it in there as long as you want, it doesn't go bad (as far as I know). But good luck trying to keep your finger off the button!

mbo, thats not really bad since I won't be RACING...haha....not a whole lot @ least...so maybe be spending $100 bucks or so for every 6 months probably. haha. But yeah, I will use it once in a while...however...I wonder if its legal and can I be arrested for having a tank in my car if the cop finds out, etc.. Also, what kinds of shops does the refills for the NOS? I can't find it where I live. Thanks

PS: I've seen cars that has engine burned or exploded because of NOS...will this occur often? How much will it cost to install? Thanks

Nitrous kits are legal to have but, I don't think your allowed to have it hooked up on the street. I know a couple people however who have it hooked up 24/7 without any problems. I don't think I've ever heard of a policeman asking someone to pop their hood, but dunno. Usually the cars that have problems with nitrous either bought cheap parts or didn't do something right while installing it. I say this because my buddy went through 15 10lb bottles and his camaro is still fine. I believe he used an NX kit. I'd assume some speed shops around your area could refill it.

What do you all think about the Zex Nitrous Kit (dry)?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

Or how about the Venon Nitrous Kit (VCN-1000 Nitrous Oxide System)?
http://www.coximport.com/venom/hotsheet.html

If you know better ones that has the LOWEST rate of failure with highest quality parts so problems can't occur randomly...please let me know. Don't want to have to get a new engine...thats like $3Gs...haha. Thanks!!!

Sorry for taking so long, but from what I know....which is little in the line of brands, NX is one of the best. I've heard Zex is a little more automated and that's the extent of my knowledge. Hopefully someone else who knows a bit more about what specific kit to get can help out. As far as wet or dry shot, I'd assume dry would be an easier self install since you hook it up pre-MAF sensor.
