So im tryna talk my sister into gettin an 06 accord coupe. i found a demo accord lx coupe (auto) with about 7500 miles on it at the dealership n their offerin it for bout $18.5k n she really wants leather so add another 1k for leather. anyways i was wondering if anyone out there could fill me on on the car as far as recalls, pros, and cons. some have complained about the transmission i dont know if the tranny is still a prob cuz i recall it was in the 98-02 accords. any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

are they as reliable as the 5th (94-97) gen transmissions? No
are they as crappy as the 6th (98-02) gen transmissions? Most likely not
I looked at a few accords with leather and IMHO the leather just isn't as nice as it is in my acura cl.


now you should be able to get a LX-V6 (2006) for a really good price. Around here they are selling EX-L V6 for 5K off of retail


You will know the trans is tast if it starts slamming under light throttle between 2nd and 3rd or starts shifting on it's own

 

the thing is that was the only 06 accord they had on the lot. n my sis doesnt really care if its a 4 or a 6 she jus cares bout how it looks n if it has leather. i actually took it for a spin while my car was gettin an oil change n i wasnt really impressed. Its rated at 166 horses which is kinda hard to believe cuz it was about as slow as my 97 accord se. so yeahh were still not sure if we should go with it. were lookin at 03-04 is300's and g35's. basically the best bang for your buck with around 22k.
