Default 2013 Honda Accord

Is anyone thinking about buying the new Accord? It will be available on the 19th September.

They will no longer have the Double Wishbone Suspension. They are instead going to McStruts. The rumor is that if you want the DWB, you'll have to either go with Infiniti or the new TL. Since my suspension at 160K+ is still rock solid, I can't see going to the new Accord and have to replace struts every 50K or so. Not to mention replacing the 18" tires. The steering will also have electric assist instead of hydrulic. I drove the new BMW 3 series a month ago with the electric set up, it sucks. I even told the salesman that I feel much more comfortable driving my 2000 Accord into a hard turn than the BMW. So much for the Ultimate Driving Machine.

2013 also has CVT trans only on 4 cylinder engines.

The 4 cylinder either has the CVT or 6MT, coupe or sedan. On the 6 cylinder coupe you can either have an automatic or 6mt, but on 6 cylinder sedan, it's only available with automatic.

I waited for months for this car to arrive and now I find that the only cars available at dealerships are the ones with "rubber band" trannys. I expected Honda to have at least some 6MT's available for a test drive, but no, they are pushing the CVT's. Not only that, but you can only get the 6mt, if you order it in two colors. One dealer I deal with said that it would take at least two months to order a 6mt. I've decided that I'm now going to keep my 2000 EX, until either it dies or I do.

I am sure they will offer the automatic 6 speed after the feedback from so many request it.

Yes. The '13 Accord does indeed have a automatic 6 speed and also a manual 6 speed. I just traded my '12 Accord EX-L V6 for the '13 EX-L V6 and there is a huge difference in handling.

^Did you get the manual or automatic? Handling has improved over the '12 even with the double wishbone suspension gone. I heard that they have done a great job on the suspension, but I didn't realize it's even better than the DWB.
