Question accord vs cavalier

so my friend just got an 04 cavalier 5spd 2.2 ecotec (140hp) and claims he beats his brothers 05 accord 5spd.......I find that REALLY hard to believe. from what I understand those ecotecs only run a 15.7-16 1/4 mile and I consistently run 15.6 in my bone stock 2000 accord 2.3 VTEC 5spd and the 05 accord beats me. anyone have firsthand experience with them?

We thats the thing, if you look up the 1/4 miles times, we should be even, or if anythingI should have the edge. but we finally did get a chance to go and he beats me quite easily it's very demoralizing to be beat by a crappy cavalier haha.

darkseat said it best i beat a bmw 1 series in my 2001 accord 2.3 v-tec 5spd and i could tell the driver of the bmw was very upset but the whole reason i beat him was because i shifter quicker and i think his might have actually been an auto. I havent raced a cavalier but i remember there was a sunfire which is almost the same car and it was a hell of alot slower then my car

As long as this stays on a track.

This is a bit old but I wanted to be sure to remind everyone that things like this are "on track only" conversations.

Cavaliers are pretty small. So 140hp in one of them is a higher hp:weight ratio than an accord. But the f23 is a bigger engine. It could win on the top end. Its a close call. But dont worry, the chevy will blow a head gasket before it even redlines :P
