Default Applying to be a Car Salesman

Tomorrow I am going to call/hopefully apply to be a car saldesman at a Kia dealership. Not my brand of choice but oh well. I have to find a job during college and this would be col if it was it! I dont know though, since I could only work a few days a week.

Anyways, any tips for when I apply, since some car salesman are scumballs?
How much do they make? Is it like min. wage + commission?

oo..Im looking for a second job too. Not for college, but just a second job. I thought about car salesman, but didnt think i wud be the right person for a job. On the show King of Cars, all the sales people look alot older. But tht would be a job i would definetly look into.

Let me know how it goes. And good luck on ur job finding. And i do think its by commission, but i am not sure about the wage.

I have two cousins who do car sales...both work on a draw. Don't know if they would do a draw for you since you would be only part time.

I suggest reading this article if you would like to get into car sales:

Go in wanting to make lots of money, and you should be good to go.

Wow! Tons of Helpful info! Thank you very very much! There is def. 2 types of people at a dealership. 3k or 4k a month would make me go crazy if I earned even hald of that! haha

Ill keep you guys posted. Im calling them 2morrow.

In the ad it said "Apply in confidence" Contact john doe, jane doe
Now, does that mean in person or what? Its oddly phrased

Part time sales is rare at a dealership but not uncommon at small used car lots. Dress well and have a resume in hand. Some places will only hire those with previous car sales experience while others want a non experienced newby to train the way they want them to sell. It can be very high pressure to produce and those that don't are gone!

That is a long read, only got past the Intro. But im sure it would be very helpful. Maybe if i get serious about the sales man, i will read it, but it all depends on how 19Accord97 does.
Good luck
