Default BMW 3 series test drive / not impressed

I just wanted to share this with my fellow Accord owner's. I took a 3 series out for a drive today. I have to say that I feel more comfortable going into a hard turn with my 2000 Accord than I do with the new 328. Too much understeer. Also, the turbo lag on the car is pronounced. One other note, the car has a "econ" button which shuts off the car when you are stopped more than 10 seconds. When the car shuts down and starts back up again, it feels like you threw a rod. I believe that the new 3 series drive more like American car's than like european cars.

I'm really dissapointed by that story. I used to have a 1974 BMW and I really liked it. But I haven't driven one newer than about 1982.

I think the car industry is wrecking the pleasures of driving most of these too fancy cars anymore. Too many bells and whistles and gadgets to play with and to go wrong...all put in to the cars in the name of progress..

I'm done ranting For Now .

^Speaking of "bells and whistles" there is a "bong" when you put the car in park, very irritating noise. Also, the gauges are so small it's difficult to read them. For me to find a comfortable driving position, I had to place the steering wheel at its lowest point, thereby rendering the instrument panel completely useless. I know that the Infiniti G37 the instrument panel moves with the wheel, so you don't lose your gauges. I guess there trying to impress the "younger" crowd, because I just find the car a PITA to drive.
