Eco-Supercar
0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds
One of the world’s quickest road-legal bio-ethanol fuelled cars, the Exige 265E is powered by a modified version of the supercharged and intercooled 4-cylinder engine from the production Lotus Exige S. With 197 kW (268 PS) the Exige 265E accelerates to 100 kph in 4.1 seconds and to a top speed of 254 kph. It is an example of Lotus Engineering’s commitment to developing eco-friendly powertrain solutions that also provide an exciting and engaging driving experience.

eh...cool car, cool performance, but not sure I agree on the whole 'ethanol as the way to go' thing. Ethanol drive up corn prices for obvious reasons, and tyically isnt as fuel efficient as pure gasoline, or so I've read.

At least the use of ethanol would help farmers in America rather than non-US citizens in countries that sabotage us. When using ethanol you are not really creating pollution. Your simply transferring pollants that would be absorbed and eventually re-released into the environment anyway.
I strongly support ethanol. Living in Illinois in a county that has the most rich soil in the world really opens my eyes to it. I dont know how many of you have E85 at your gas stations but we have quite a few. The differnce in price is about 20-30 cents or more. Although you get less mpg (not by much) with ethanol and you may say well the difference in price isnt enough to get it. The reason it is still expensive are because there arent many ethanol plants in this country yet. Hence why you dont see it everywhere.

[ol][*]Ethanol reduces pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Ethanol contains a higher percentage of oxygen than traditional petroleum-based gasoline. Because of it, Ethanol burns more completely than petroleum-based gasoline, and does not contribute to global warming like burning petroleum-based fuels does. In fact, using ethanol as a motor fuel reduces greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 46%. Using just 10% ethanol in your gas tank reduces greenhouse gas emissions by up to 19%.[*]Ethanol does not pollute ground water. Because of ethanol’s chemical structure, ethanol phase separates when it comes into contact with water. This makes it very safe for the environment because ethanol is biodegradable. It also means that ethanol will not pollute ground water like many other potential fuel sources could.[*]Ethanol Is Cheaper To Make Than Gasoline. Ethanol costs about 75 per gallon to make. Gasoline cost about $1.60 per gallon to refine. It only costs about $30 to convert a car to be a flex fuel vehicle, but doing it can save hundreds of gallons of fuel per year.[/ol]
Back on track though. That is def. a GREAT example. I wonder how many mpg they could get out of it with less of a performance engine.

0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds sounds pretty damn good.
Acutally, the eco-car beat out the regular gasoline engine (supplied by Toyota) 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds
0.2 of a second....thats huge considering it runs on E85.

RE: Eco-Supercar
Down here in Jackson MS I have never seen E85 fuel. Never seen a single gas station anywhere in the whole state that sells the stuff.
I also do not believe it costs $1.60 per gallon to refine gasoline.
