any 5spd tranny would work, h22s are just geared better. would need a obd2-1 conversion harness(about $50-100)

so what would you recremend...full h22a swap or h23 with h22 heads...i heard from some people h23 with h22 heads performs a slight better then just the regular h22a

well I would just get a H23a if I was going to do a h23 vtec(jdm motor that is a h23 with a h22 head).

I have a reg old H22a4 with all the bolt ons you can have pretty much right now and is making 191whp.

I currently am in the process of building a H23 vtec(more or less, just using h23 crank and rods for the added stroke with h22 pistons and h22 head).

h23 vtec offers more torque, and less power, so its a toss up, there has also been some talk of the reliability of this hybrid.

huh i see...i have a single cam non vtec in my car but i dnt no wether to go turbo or h22 swap...only thng is if i was to turbo the single cam i can only boost bout 8 psi at the most witout doin any to the engine...but if i want to but more then itll cost more money to do internal n fuel rail n ect. so do u no if a single cam turbo would b better then a swap?

8psi on a f22 and bolt ons plus a h22 are about the same power, f22 turbo would prob win in a race due to more torque, and maybe slightly more power.

I personally love the H22 though, and am a N/A guy.
