Well since im 17 i have a provisional license. Me and 2 of my friends were leaving a bank were i had to make a left out of. It was hard to see if cars were coming up and I tested my luck and gave like 75% throttle and made the left. No joke like 3 seconds after i made the left a cop was right on me with his lights on. License and registration.... Gave him those and the insurance. While he was looking at them my friend goes here give him this and gave me a gold card and i gave it to the cop. He goes what is this a gold card, credit card? I said its a gold card. He goes whose is it and i got nervous case i wasnt sure how to use it lol and i looked at my friend and he said it was his and the cop got mad and said are you the one driving? The cop goes you floored it and went 40 in a 30 with your loud exhaust. I said its a stock exhaust(lol sri ftw).... and i wasnt goin 35. Then he goes Do you have ultra something gauges and i just kinda shook my shoulders. I could have said actually they have been tested by the police radars on the street and my gps and according to both my car is going 2-3mph slower than what the gagues say but i didnt say that cause he would have got way more mad. Then he goes to his car and comes back with 2 tickets. Now i have to go to court on Sept 10th....

 

What were the tickets written for?

 

Oh 1 for 1 extra person in the car it doesnt say how much but from what i here its like 100$ a person. and the second one is for 40mph in a 30mph zone.

Honestly i dont know but i dont think so eathier. The cop was a d-bag and raised his voice when i told him i wasnt going 40 that my gauge said 35. and I coulda said that I know that they are right because ive tested them with the police radars on the street and my gps and they both say that im going 2-3 mph slower than what my gauge says.

well your lucky he didn't think that you were bribing him with that gold card...cause he could've given you a ticket for bribery...and that would really suck

 

While the cop was looking at my license my friend goes here give him this(his gold card). I took it and handed it over to him and he goes whats this a gold card? a credit card? and i said its a gold card and he goes whos is it? I got nervous and said it was my friends cause i wasnt sure how they worked exactly (it happened too fast for me to think) and he looks at my friend and said are you driving? and my friend says no and the cop just gave it back. Now if i knew about it I could have just said it was mine and my cousin gave it to me(im an idiot i know but ive never been pulled over so I couldnt think)And cops HAVE too take them and respect them pba, fop, gold cards. But cops can take pba and fop cards. Hopefully i get one of those soon. But now when i go back out im taking the shield outta my friends moms car and putting in in my car.

 

How would that be a bribe? Its a card showing that your family with a cop they have to respect that. Im still not exactly sure how it is a bribe im new to this stuff so if you could explain that, that would be cool.

 

well i for one am a police officer myself...here in california we don't have what you call a gold card,pba card, fob card or any of that cards.... when you first explained the situation it seemed that you were trying to give him your friends credit card not one of those get out of a ticket cards.... so i apologize for the mix up...but also a rule in california is that if you try and give the officer that pulled up over anything other then your insurance, license and registration..the officer could take it as a bribe and write you a ticket....but aww i remember my first ticket i ever gotten...second day driving pulled over for a stop sign violation....
