First Tickets

RE: First Tickets
My wife is a DA here in Co, There actaully are added cost for tring to fight it and lose, like court costs, attorney fees and others. All that happens is the cop will writenotes on the back of his copy of the ticket, and or a report at the station. Which then will be processed and file for the assistant DA or another county attorney to look at. before even entering the court room you will have a meeting with the attorney who's been processing your case, nows when you can cut a deal. They'll ask you to tell your story, and tell it how you think it really happened, if you try to make yourself sound too good they'll think your lieing. Now if the officer didn't write good enough notes, you'll have a real good chance of getting off or atleast a lower ticket. But Unless you are a 100% sure your not in the wrong, I wouldn't take it to court. Things could work alittle differently in your area, you can always ask for a free consultation from someone in your county to get a clear idea of the laws. Hope this can help!

If you lose, you wont pay more. You just end up being guilty and spending more time than if you would have just plead guilty at first.
Im telling you from experience, just get court supervision for so many months or take the driving class offer. This way your insurance wont rise in premium and you won't get points on your driving record.
EDIT: I should stop using apostrophes.

You will have to bring one of your parents with you, I some states and different cases, since your not a legal adult your parents can be held responsible for your violations and fines. You might want to look up online or ask someone about the exact laws in your county.

RE: First Tickets
Court supervision is basically a allotted time where you cannot be pulled over and given a ticket.

RE: First Tickets
Well my first ticket was for my tint. I was on my way to work and this bike cop was bored sitting at a stop light saw me and pulled me over. He put this stupid little box that cali got that measures the visibility of the tint and my was like 7% (which is pitch black) i guess anything on your front windows is illegal but anyways by brother is a cop he signed it off i paid my $10 fine and now i roll my windows down when i see a cop. Then about a week ago my B/F and I were taking out a Mitsubishi that we just rebuilt and were driving over this hill and we were coming down a lil too fast and there was this white car and i couldnt tell if it was a cop or not. Anyways he was just sitting in this turning lane which led to the only house on this road. We were going about 65 in a 55. Next thing Iknowhe flips around kinda fast and pulled us over. He told me he clocked my at 77 in a 55 i looked at my b/f and i was like no way. so he wrote us a ticket for 22 miles over the limit.I was told in cali 30 over is a felony so we were lucky.I knew i hadover sized tires and my speedo was off but i didnt realize it was that far off!!Now we gotta go to court next month. DURN COPS!!

RE: First Tickets
only ticket i've ever gotten was a parking ticket for parking on the street outside my house overnight because there was a pile of dirt in my driveway. (you cant park on the street between 2 and 5 AM in my city)
I once rear-ended someone at about 5mph, but they got the ticket even tho i was at fault. cops don't appreciate being called over nothing.

RE: First Tickets
Well today was my court day and I just got back. So I go to the court and get a number and go wait in the courtroom. Then they call the numbers to go talk to the prosecutor, so I went to the room and then I got called in for my turn. I sit down and he takes out my tickets. He talked to me about the ticket for 1 extra person and tells me that I should plead guilty so I agree and say yea. He gave me a little talk about my provisional license and to be careful. He looks at the next ticket (the speeding ticket) and goes "I'm going to dismiss this speeding ticket." I didn't even talk to him or explain anything about it! I was so releaved. I went back to the courtroom and the judge called me up and said what the prosecutor told me and told me it's a $100 fine for the 1 extra person and paid and left. Now with my left over money I'm going to buy some Hawk brake pads, a Hayden 403 AT tranney cooler, and some tools for my car!
