Wimp? Ha, that's rich. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Brits bundled up and shivering while I went aboutbeing a tourist in my shorts and T-shirt wondering if anemia hadovertaken the country.

I kid of courseand I really did enjoy England. The people everywhere were friendlyand went out of their way to help when asked. Barnsdale Country Club near Oakham had the most beautiful grounds and lodging. The village of Oakham was more quaint than anything I could have imagined. Windsor Castle, although seen from a distance, was amazing to behold. If anyone here has a chance to go to the UK don't pass it up.

The whole concept of an electorial college is retarded. In the states, the REAL election doesn't pick the president. The REAL election determines which party the electorial college represents for that state, which should vote in the expected manner. They don't have to though. The number of electorial votes for a state is equal to the number of representatives and senetors that state has in Washington DC. This way, there is an easy way for our election to be corrupted in case they can't get the job done in the public election like Dubyah's brother did in Florida. Gotta love our version of democracy!!!!
That's why I have never really been too interested in voting. The only reason I would do it now is to please the company CEO (big into politics) or to be called for Jury duty and get some time off work. I think jury duty would be kind of cool.

And don't even get me started on a woman president. that is exactly the reason I bet she won't wind up on the democratic ballot. because there are too many old school democrat males who wouldn't vote for her simply because she is a woman.
Oh well, at least she is old enough that she has hopefully already been through menopause so we won't have to worry about PMS rages while she is in office with her finger on the nuke button. But then again, if she is currently going through menopause, she will act like even more of a crazed lunatic because of all the hormone changes. i wonder if they would give her time off for that?

I've been called for jury duty about 6 times now... Never had to show up it was always settled first but I'm fairly certain if I did have to show and they interviewed me I'd be dismissed unless they wanted a prior military gun toting legalistic young male, but chances are I'm not going to help anyones case... *L*

haha! The good thing about that is, the county I live in is full of gun toting, conservative males so I guess I would have a 50/50 shot at being cut or chosen. I'm sure my insurance background would terrifyall plaintiff attorneys though so i'd probably be outed because of that.

Only did jury duty once. The case was some young scum-bags who had broken into a shop. I wanted them to be transported to Australia but I was told that we didn't do that anymore. Shame !

Britain used the Australian colony as a penal establishment in the early days. people were sent there for such "crimes" as basically being poor and stealing sheep to feed their families. Since we discovered the place [Captain Cook] is seemed only fair. Do you know how the kangeroo got it's name ? When the Royal Navy ships first landed, they saw this weird creature hopping all over the place. They asked an aboriginal [native Australian] what it was. He replied Kangeroo which translates to "buggered if I know, mate." This may be a true story.
