Default GOVERNOR

Ok I have a 00' accord V6 coupe, now I was woundering when does the governor kick in? My friend has a 96 accord 4 banger, he said thats his kicks in at 130. also what will it affect if I get it taken off? Will it be hard to find a shop to take it off? And finally, as my car get more horse power will it keep kickin' in at 130 or where ever it is?

I think its part of the ecu but im not too sure. But the top end depends on the gearing and i think most auto's are geared to about the top end. But i could be wrong.

AH, thats why both car repair books I have say it has a governor in it. ^_- For LX's lol But stock accord auto's are hard pressed to make it past 120 unless its going on some form of a downward grade. I really need to replace my transmission. Stupid wide gear ratios.....
