help please! ignition barrel sensory problem!
hi,
i have just bought a '99 accord. its ONLY and very BIG problem is the how key chip immobiliser sensor problem
when buying the previous owner taken about 30 attempts to start the car. ''just getting the nack'' he says!
upon taking off the cluster to expose barrel and relevent parts I have found that he's shoved paper in there as a futile attempt and the black box that sits above the barrel and the box below are pretty loose.
I have tried re-tightening these parts with minor adjustments to try and solve this problem... but my efforts are in vein....
ALTHOUGH i have found when i have have electrics on and turn to start (pulling the key) andhold until its back works .... 80% of the time.
SO! if the parts can't be put back in place propely. I am looking to replace the barrel and relevent sensors etc... but what I am also wondering does there need to be an ECU change with the new barrel ect?
if anyone can help me in this dilema i will be extremely greatfull!
thankyou and hope to hear from you guys soon!
