Wow....that's quite a story. I guess I'm not the only one who appreciates the longevity of the Accord or who is crazy enough to still use it as my "daily driver" well beyond 200k miles.
Mine is still used for many road trips as its still smooth, quiet, and comfortable. Even in a house with 4 drivers and 5 cars the 2000 Accord is usually everyone's choice to run around in and to take on day trips....they even pass up my Hemi Durango to take the Accord since its so pleasant to drive and get a consistent 29 mpg no mater how you drive it.

280K and still going!

This is one amazing car! I drove it from FLA to PA last January and it was flawless. Did fine in the snow. This is our family vehicle and I used it last week to rescue my wife in our "low mileage" Chevy (It is just shy of 200,000 miles). This car does burn some oil but other than that it cleans up well, runs great, and I believe that I will actually shed a tear the day this thing dies.

Shh... don't tell Falkore

Hey Brandon ..... why are you so concerned about me finding your posts??? I really don't care what is posted personally, as long as there aren-t drama problems or undue flaming of members. I do edit posts to keep Angelo-s rules intact and I understand his reasons, but it-s not like any of this stuff personally offends me. Also, if we took an age demographic of this forum, I-d be in the younger half. I-m only 29, stop making me feel old!!! In the summer I-ll be old, but the forced induction should keep me younger for the first half of the dreaded 30-s.

I only have 126k on my accord. I'm planning on getting it to 200k then buying a newer car but still keeping it around. Major thing done was the transmission. To OP have u ever had to change your trans?

As for the mercury, my grandma gave me a 95 grand marquis and it's currently on loan to my sister. Has 130k and is still going strong. Only things that have been done are routine maintenance and normal wear and tear. The thing sucks gas like crazy in the city at about 16mpg, but with all freeway driving I've gotten up to 27. Usually got 25mpg out of it though, got the 27 my driving the speed of big rigs.

come on. there has got to be more folks with 200k plus on their odometer. hondas are notorious for getting great miles out of their cars.

I got around 148k on the 2000 LX.
I bought it 2 years ago with about 104k on it.
I change the oil every 5k with Valvoline MaxLife syn blend (usually about every 2 months)
Timing belt was changed around 109k.
I changed the plugs shortly after I bought it (NGK double plats)
No problems for the past 2 years and 44k miles

The money pit's odometer works intermittently. It currently shows 122k, but I think it is more like 130k.
It has the notoriously leaky C27 V6. I use 10w30 to try to keep the oil in the engine (plus it is always hot here in Mississippi anyway so 10w30 is fine). I change the oil every 3 months. It uses less than 1/2 quart of oil every 3 months (that is what leaks out - it doesn't burn any)
Over the years I have had to replace quite a few things on it. The things I can remember: CV boots/axles, ignition coil, radiator fan motor, brake master cylinder..
Right now I need to change the thermostat because it is stuck open, and I need to get the speedometer/odometer fixed or replaced. The ABS light stays on all the time and check engine light is on for a bad o2 sensor. I also should replace the oil pan gasked because that appears to me to be the main source of the leaks.
