You don't have to throw it on the top part. I had one explode in my hand once from hitting it on the side. It actually did not burn me. It was cold, not hot.

but thanks for the heads up with those air circulator things haha, i thought they were cool, guess not..oh and another tip for keeping chemicals in direct sunlight..is NOT TO ;D put them under the seat or something..
