Just turned 25...single...paying my way through college on my own.
I did the same thing. I went the "student loan" route to pay for housing & spending money. I got tuition paid for in scholarships. I still have over 11k in student loans to pay off though At least my interest rate is only about 2% though and the interest is tax deductible. I have a friend that went to NYU and he has over $50k in student loans - that's rough

28 .... no life sentences yet. ~20k in student loans that collect less interest than the inflation rate, so no point in paying more than the minimum. Jon, a friend of mine is a dentist already, but he and his wife are taking specializations .... when he's done, he'll be in $250k of debt.

Good Lord that is aweful! Another reason why I have always said you have tohave rich parents to become a doctor unless you want to be up to your eyeballs in debt untill you aremiddle aged.

LOL .... his wife will have no debt ..... wonder why. Then again, the 2 of them will be making so much money when they are done that the debt won't last too long .... then they'll be ungodly rich themselves.

25 here... wife, no kids yet...

We just bought a really nice (2006) house (2500sqft) on some decent land (1/2 acre)... Thing are going great for us!

I'm thinking of adding another Accord to the family... 4-door for the wifey.
Get ready bud. I bet your wife will get "baby fever" pretty soon. My wife was pregnant within 3 months of living in our new house. (1800 sq ft. - on a golf course.) Now I'm desperately trying to keep up mortgage payments along with the medical bills I still have to pay off after having the baby - plus the $520/month day care bills Butour little girlis awesome! I'm glad she got pregnant after all -even if I am in debt now!
Here's a pic of me and my baby (Lucy):

cute! Yeah, my wife has had baby fever for a bit now; but she knows we just can't afford it just yet... but we're planning, that's for sure...

i'm luckily not in any debt; but i worked myBUTT of during college to make sure of so as well, and i JUST paid off my wife's debts (whew!) which was a preeeettty penny

Yeah my wife got baby fever pretty quick. She is 10 months older than me. Apparently there is some mechanism in women's brains that tells them "I want a baby" no matter how irrational it may seem at the time. She always pointed out: "When will we ever really feel like we can afford it?" To which I could never give a good answer. She discussed getting off birth control with mewhen i was really drunk one night. Apparently i thought it wasn't a bad idea cause all the nurses she works with told her it can take 6 months or so to get pregnant after getting off the pill. She got pregnant after being off the pill for about a week! I thought I was going to get a little bit more "practice" haha. I was pretty freaked outfor a while, but luckily2 of my friends already have kids. I don't regret it at all. Once you finally accomplish getting them tosleep through the night, it is super easy. The parenting instincts kick in almost immediately.many of my friends always laughed at the thought of me being a parent since I was one of the biggest partiers among my group of friends. After she was born, most of that changed. I stillget wild on the weekends if her grandmother is taking care of her, but not as much as I used to. Idon'tmiss all the partying. I'm sure my liver doesn't miss it either! I feel like an old geezer sometimes though. My wife and I are in bed my 10:00 on weeknights now. We used to easily sleep past noon on the weekends. Now neither one of us can sleep past 10:00 even if the babyis at her grandmother's house. We will probably be working on baby # 2 after a year or two to keep the kids fairly close together in age.
