Default Insurance...

so i'm a 20 year old guy that alone screws me. no tickets. part of the deal of me buyin this car at the dealer was my insurance was going to have to be cheap and "magically" the salez managers wife was an agent. so we go thru the crap and we get to the discounts and she asks do you apply for the good student discount? i say no i'm not in college anymore. she proceceds to ask are you going next term? i say maybe havent decided its not till march any way... she then says well i'll add it to you anyway. ended up being 162 amonth...thats good. 1 month later get a letter in the mail saying since i didnt prove i was a student it now changes to 228 amonth.... so i'm pretty livid.

Your paying almost $2,736 a year for insurance?! That's outrageous! From age 21-23 I drove a corvette and my insurance was not that high. You need to just use geico, something cheap and make your ded. $1000. I'm 23 and when I get my 02 accord my ins. will be around 70$ a month.

Wow. That lady screwed you. She had to know that if you didn't have documentation you were going to get charged. Get out of there ASAP and find new insurance. From my experience places that have insurance agents who actively seek new people to insure have been quite expensive. Maybe tea bag that woman and sales agent?

I hear you on the location. My city has consistently placed in the top 10 cities with the most stolen cars. Woot.

Most banks won't allow a $1000 deductable when you have a loan on the vehicle (notice I said most...) The only way you're going to get out of that is if you either sign up for classes or switch companies. Also, going in there and getting livid might be entertaining but probably isn't going to help. I would suggest that you call the agent that signed you up and let her know what is going on. If she blows you off call the company that you got signed through and tell them that she falsafied documents. Then go online and start getting some insurance quotes.
