Default Lost a friend today

This is the off topic and I have thick skin.

Lost my best friend today. Always wanted to ride with me in the Honda, always sat right beside my chair as I try to help on the internet or just watch tv. Would protect the family at any cost. Would lay in the yard or driveway and watch me play with the cars.....heck even walked behind me when I would mow the yard.

My son and my dog are together again.

Just joined the forum 2 minutes ago and thought i was on the PET LOSS FORUM which I joined last December when I lost my best friend TOBY- I totally understand your feelings and the grief you are going through compounded with the loss of your son. My deepest sympathies-it will take awhile to get to where the fond memories outweigh the sadness-but it does get better. The Pet Loss forum was very supportive during my loss (which is still strong). You might want to join-just a suggestion=some people are private during their grieving process-others need a bit of support. Take care and monitor your health during this sad period. Best wishes, Tedrik

Sorry to hear about that Scott. Can't say I truly know what you're going through, but I like Tedrik's idea about the good memories finally outweighing the sadness. Take care.

As a mother my heart goes out to you. Stay strong new friend stay busy and stay healthy. You now have one more angel to watch over you. "Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened" you have fond memories and love never dies. It takes time dear sir and time heals. Our pets are just as much our kids as our own and just as hard to grieve. Hugs to you and condolences.

Sorry for your loss.
When I lost my dog, I posted an online memorial here.

Goodby old girl, may you run the trails in your dreams

You can get another dog, but it won't be the same.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

I was wondering/worried what kind of comments I would get but once again I can see the members on HAF are the best

I am sorry to hear that Scott I know you had told me how much (she?) had meant to you. As others have said it is important to remember all the good times you had together and what an impact you had on your pet's life.

Thanks. Yes, she is the one I always talked about.
