yea the rotors wont melt, the pads just give off a gas that reduces friction and virtually eliminates your ability to stop. that why i always recommend putting drilled rotors on your car because they will vent that gas. i yanked my car down last night off the freeway at a dollar ten and if i didnt have my drilled rotors i would have easily went into the intersection or a pole or something.

Do you know what that gas is called?

And I was thinking about wilwood, or brembo which would be better or is there a better company with more bang for the buck (drilled and etc.)

Dont get me wrong, I'm not saying hey you should go 130 mph its fun. I'm just saying that being the voice of morality its going to help anything. If someone doesnt understand the forces that are acting upon a car thats going over 100 vs one thats going 45. Just saying thats not safe and you shouldnt do it, isnt going to change what they are going to do.

I dont think its really defined as a gas, its high heat due to the friction between the pad and the rotor. The brake dust shouldnt turn into a gas, it should stay as just the particles breaking away from the brake.

yea no its really a gas.....im sure what gas it is though. its commonly just referred to as brake fade. having drilled rotors will vent that gas it makes a big difference.

Hey I was just wounding........ I want to hit 120-150 but I can't find any road to do that on around here cuz the Marietta police are always looking for something to pull you over on. I have looked and tried driving fast on many roads close to me. But all I find is that the road, or my car can't handle me going that fast or their are tons of cops on. So my question is their any other way to find a road besides an Interstate?
What do you have that you think will go 150 MPH? I think you're blowing smoke up our shorts!!!!!!!!

Yeeeeah, and just because we have cars that are only stock 135 - 150hp and are talking about things in this forum that will make them faster doesnt mean were reducing that risk by making the car faster to begin with. Its already been proven you can wreak and die at almost any speed. Saying just cause you car can do something doesnt mean you should is contradicting the whole point of this forum and the fact that more then half of the topics are about improving performance.
I don't know if you know this or not, but there are these places called tracks. You go there and drive your car as fast as you want, if you crash there are paramedics waiting to take you to the hospital. If you crash the only person you are gonna hit is another racer or the wall. However, if you are doing 135 on a road you could hit a guy going home from work, a family of 5, or a host of other people. There is a time and a place for everything. The road is not there for you to find out exactly how fast you can go. That is what the track is for.

Click on images and look at the picture of what is left of his 350Z. I knew this guy, he loved driving fast and now he is 6 feet under.

I'm takin' a guess your talking to me and yes I know of these things called "tracks" , but what is the point of having a fast car (not saying mine is fast....yet) if your not going to use it. Yes you can go get some time at the track but driving fast on a road and on a track are two different things, this is stupid but you get a hell of a lot more rush knowing you might have to get away from the cops than ridin' around on a track. True you can hit a hard working father of 5 or mom or what ever, but who's to say, the racer you might hit could be a soon to be father trying to get some track time before his kid is born, or somthing. I already know your response would be something to the effect of well racing on the track he knew what he was gettin into, verses hitting a guy yhat was in the wrong plac at the wrong time. My point is this I know what I do is retarded but I going to try to justify what I do. I try to be careful (as much as you can going anywhere closse to those speeds) by going this on industrial roads after they close at like 10:30 and after.

AND THIS THREAD IS CALLED "LOVE OF GOING FAST" YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GUESS THAT SOMEONE WAS GOIN TO POST SOMETHING ABOUT DRIVING FAST ON THE ROAD. Just throwing that out there, and someone already pretty much said what you did read the posts before you post something.
