Manual Transmission

RE: Manual Transmission
I rarely drive with 2 hands on the wheel, I usually dont drive with one hand fully on the wheel. How do i justify this? I dont know.... i just started doing it for some reason, i dont even drive a manual.
In the end, the best bet is to learn with someone whos driven one before and have a friend with an 80's accord, cause anyone whos driven one of those knows its the most forgiving clutch on the face of the earth, but otherwise if you try to learn on your own expect to be replacing the clutch waaaaaay ahead of shedule and depending on how bad you are at learning it you may even be replacing the transmission due to clutchless shifting ^_-

RE: Manual Transmission
Marbro is does have a point about learining how to drive it with an experienced manual transmission driver in the car with youteaching you how.
But do not be aftaid of buying a manual transmission car just because you have never driven one. Both Breeze and I bought our 1st cars with manual transmissions and did not know how to drive one.
As long as you remember to always clutch before shifting you won't tear up the trans.
As long as the person teaching you has a bit of patience, you should be able to get the hang of it in no time. Let us know how it goes and what you decide to buy.
I found my car using Autotrader.com. There is an option on there that allows youto pick auto or manual trans cars in your search. That way you don't waste a bunch of time sifting thorugh the massive amounts of auto Accords if you really want a manual. When I bought mine there was probably about 1 manualAccord for every 50 automatic Accords. So good luck!
