Its amazing what you can find when you are at work, and you dont want to work...It looks like 03-06 Accords, as well as several other Honda models, had the mileage portion of their warranties extended by 5% as part of the class action settlement...

RE: Mileage Scam
Not sure...looks like the stuff was mailed out awhile ago. Typically with class action, you're automatically part of it, unless you opt out. If you bought the car new or certified used, I would think you'd be notified. Otherwise, how would they know you were an owner? Maybe the HAL, but, otherwise, ?

RE: Mileage Scam
first off it isn't a milage scam..........
Some dip**** ran overthier lease and decided to not want to paythier leas fees so they found out that honda's accuracy on their odometers is - 1.5% to +3.75% so they sued honda stating that their odometer readings are not 100% accurate (in reality they never would be since you have to add up the percentage of error for each device in the ODO chain and run it in a formula to get an average). tire pressure/size can also affect the odo reading as well.
This hurts everyone in the LONG RUN since Honda will undoubtidly cut back on their "good will work" and add the cost of this into the price of a new car...they proabably started doing this when the case actually went to trial....
I actually looked up the KBB value of a 98 accord LV-V6 with 100K and 105K on it and the value of the car was exactly the same...........

Also, while the end result of yourcomparisonis probably the same had you used another source, KBB is an absolutely worthless site when it comes to valueing vehicles. Rarely are they anywhere near the ballpark of what people actually pay...unless they are really stupid people with money to burn...
