RE: mustang gt
The only reason I'm not a big fan of factory-turboed cars is they have already done most of the tuning for you. so it seems to me that there is not much room for future performance mods. I'm sure someone will tie me to a pole for that statement though
I just see much more potential in the Mustang's V8. Think if you supercharged the Mustang V8 and put a little money into better suspension! That is all........

Yeah, but who the F knows how to work on an RX7? Rotary Engine? Way over my head. Plus, RX7 Twin Turbo would = mucho dinero. Mustang+$3,000 supercharger = probably around 400hp easy.
Also RX7's are known for terrible reliability.

I hear that they're actually vwery easy to work on, it's just that they aren't mainstream so most aren't familiar with the cycle. I'd love to get my hands on the Renesis (RX-8) engine, supercharge it and put it in an 01 Prelude SH ..... could also get 400 HP. But then again, the H22 it comes with is pretty bad assed!

no, i didn't mean to say porsche lol! but, you gotta admit companies such as honda and porsche really know what they are doing in terms of quality! bottom line is if you want to make a car fast it really is possible. takes a lot of time and money, but the satisfaction in the end is worth it for many. yeah, i agree with 00accord on supercharging a mustang gt. instead of getting the gt500, you could just buy a supercharger and beef up your gt. save tons of money instead of dishing $50k for a gt500.

Yeah....I would just be waaaayyy too worried I would not be able to work on the engine, nor would I be able to find a shop around here that knew how to work on one. When I was in the market for my 2nd mustang, I ran across a used car dealer that had an early 90's model RX7 (not the expensive one). Now I am kicking myself for not test driving it, but I think I was afraid I would like it too much. I was afraid of buying it cause I was 17 at the time, and lived in a small town, and knew I would be lost when it came to the engine, and knew there probably wouldn't be any one in town who knew a thing about rotary engines.
