Default Need advice on purchase!!

I was offered to buy this car. I am currently in medical school and obviously short on money. I was wondering if anybody could help me decide whether this is okay to buy, or if I should pass. This is the information I received:

Any input is greatly appreciated.

2001 Honda Accord LX, 4 door sedan, auto, power windows&mirrors, folding
rear seat. Low miles (~110K). Garage parked, except first two years, and
last one in Kansas. Champagne outside/beige inside.

We are original owners for the car. Timing belt changed @ 95k. Oil
change every 5K max. Full synthetic oil since 2003.

I brought the car back from KS (1K miles) about a month ago. Had to put
a new battery in KS. Previous one was dead, as the car was not used for
a while. No problems while driving that far. It gave 35 MPG for the
trip, like the new one - i.e. cylinder compression is perfect. AC was
never recharged - i.e. the AC system has no leaks.

Car had two problems. Clogged hood opener string, and rust ( about 2
cm2) near rear passenger wheel. The string problem is fixed. The rust is
being fixed right now: grinding,
welding a patch, finishing.

Radio is custom, with USB/SD/DVD MP3 player and AUX input. Will add a
GPS (old Garmin with current 2013 maps, and new battery) with stock
suction, and dash stand (easy to hide) mounts. I have Yakima cross bar
Q-mounts that fit the car (for kayak). You can get them to move some
spacy stuff on the roof, though I will need the mounts back.

$3900. According to market, this is price for the similar car with no
history. I believe that our car was taken way better care than average one.

Me personally? No. 98-02 automatics had too many issues for me to risk it.

Could you buy it and have no problems? Yes. But they are known to fail.

Sounds like the previous owners actually liked the car, and subsequently maintained it properly. If they can show you the records, that's a big +.
Keep in mind is that no 12-15 year old car is going to be "maintenance Free". Be prepared to spend 800$-1200$ a year to keep it in good reliable condition, if you drive a lot.
If you need a car, I'd offer them $3400 to start, you'll be better off with an Accord with 110,000 miles than a Focus or a Malibu with that same mileage, I am sure that everyone here would agree with that.
