Default Need Help Deciding

Hey guys, so basically heres my story

in afew months im looking at getting rid of my car and buying something else, and i was looking into honda accords.. Specifically i kinda wanted a 98+ accord.. the ones with the 200 hp V6 Vtec and a 5 Speed, not automatic

Is there anything i should know about this body style accord? Are the V6 vtecs good motors? how are the 5 speed manuals? anything youd like to mention? i just wanna get to know about these cars more

also is there any aftermarket support for them engine wise? etc yada yada.. anything youd like to mention to help me make my decision, thanks

Theres a guy on here who had quite a bit of transmission trouble. But not all are bad. If you buy one just buy a transmission cooler and that will extend the life considerably. Im pretty sure the 200hp'ers are pretty quick. Aftermarket wise...Im not to sure. Check out ebay, just type in 98 honda accord and see what they have. See if they have engine mods for the v6's. Good luck!

engine will outlive the rest of the car. transmissions have an extremely high failure rate

you can add headers for some hp you can also add an axle back exhaust for a few HP messing with anything else in the exhaust will sacrafice low end torque and since this V6 is already lacking in this department, that isn't good

Personally I just opted for a MUCH faster car as I had a '98 V6 coupe and traded it for a 02 CL type S and then added some headers and intake. Now I have a 300HP daily driver is not only fun but somewhat reliable (trans problems aside)

If you really want an accord, get an 03 model with a V6

I really wanted that V6 too...

I really cant stand the 4 banger crap, if i wanted a 4 banger ide get a integra GSR or a RSX-S and call it a day

but i want the torque of a V6, AND have a 5 speed manual, with the fun of vtec all in one
