thank you for the gas info, 00AccordLX5spd! i am not sure about the horsepower calculation, but the max factory horsepower my car has is 166 and the tester told me i got up to 165, pretty damn accurate!

It may use an RPM reading to HP as well to determine HP.... it is an interesting thought.

I would guess that some of those gizmos have GPS built into them to cypher how far the car has gone. Just guessing, but makes sense.

Only extremely expensive GPS would be that accurate, this sounds like a cheaper ($20 - $50) tool.

i think what it does is it reads the information through the ECU, but i am not sure how it could do that through the outlet.

I have it!!!! It doesn't tap into the ECU or have the ability to tell the RPM's.

This explains how HP is calculated -- a combination of the acceleration, velocity and time.

The "I have it!!!" was in referance to the unit, not the formula. I just re-read it and it sounds like I'm some mad scientist. I meant that I own the G-Force GT2.

ooooooooooo, man! *rofl* i thought you meant that you had the formula. but yeah, it is a pretty sweet little device. btw, we also tested a Lexus IS250 and a BMW 335i Coupe (chipped)the same night. The BWM killed me w/ 4.3 seconds, but the lexus only beat me by 0.9 seconds, which isnt bad considering i have a stock i4 and the lexus is a v6. i love v-tecs!
