Yeh I usually just smoke on the weekends around friends, maybe 10-12 cigs a week. But after starting my cardio this week, I see how much it affects my breathing and overall stamina.2 years ago Icould run 2 miles in 12 minutes. Now I can only run a mile in 10 minutes and I feel like im going to die!!!! I have officially decided to stop too even though my smoking was minor.

Yeah I wish I could quit smoking cigarettes, but just cigarettes lol. Good luck with that man, I've been smoking cigarettes since I was 13 and have tired to quit too many times. I've found nothing to replace a cigg for me, not even the sensi. Wish I had an extra $130 and I'd prolly try that out. Good luck man!

Yeah I had my first smoke when I was 11, and I have been smoking on a pretty regular basis since I was probably 14 or 15. I used to swipe them from my parents all the time. When I turned 15 or so, both of my parents quit, but I was able to find places that would sell them to me. I always looked older than my real age. I've been smoking a pack a day for around 6 or 7 years I know (I just figured since I was 18 and they were legal to buy haha).

This is day one with no cigarettes. I had my last one last night around 9:00 or so. The Chantix has been bumped up from 1mg per day (0.5 in the morning and 0.5 in the evening) to 2 mg per day (1mg in morning and 1mg in evening). So I feel kind of funny after taking the one this morning, plus not having my normal 3 or 4 cigarettes on the way to work. But I can't say I am really dying for a cigarette. maybe it's all in my head........or maybe this stuff really works........ only time will tell

Yeah the $130 thing was a huge PITA. I am already broke enough paying off medical bills and day care after the new baby. But at least pharmacy costs are tax deductible. So I just slapped it on a credit card and I plan on paying off my balances when my fat tax return comes in. Yes, I said fat tax return. If it's not fat I'm firing my CPA. Last year I and my wife spent over $10k in mortgage interest alone, incurred over $3k in medical bills, had a baby we didn't claim on my paycheck till 2008, my wife did continuing education that rang in at around $10k (luckily$8k of that was a gift from her grandfather & father.)

Day two. I want a smoke pretty bad. But it is definitely not as bad as it has been in the past when I tried to quit. I guess I never really had any drive to quit though before. I made it worse last night by visiting a friend's house. 3 people in the house smoke and have smoked since I can remember.I told them I was quitting and they said "Why?"
Haha I didn't really know what to say.
I am still cheating a bit though.I am dipping at the office. About 3 or 4 dips per day. I don't think I will get hooked to this though. I have a friend who isabout to finishdental school and is about to start practicing. I'm sure he will give me crap about it if I keep up. Plus the CEO will probably catch me someday. It doesn't help though that my supervisor is 2nd in command at the company and he dips at work. He hides it like I do. I know because I have caught him putting one in before haha. But other than that, you can't tell when he has one in his mouth. You can't tell when I have one in either.

Haha I had a friend that got caught by a teacher once dipping in class. The teacher almost made him swallow it!

Hows the quiting going? I've been talking to my mom about getting this for me, I would be so happy if I could quit smoking ciggs.

Well... I made it 5 full days without a single cigarette. Iforgot to keep posting on here my progress, but as the week went on it became easier. This past weekend was the St. Patricks day parade (afternoon drunkfest)in my town and I was going to a bachelor party afterwards. So I decided I would go ahead and smoke a few this weekend. I smoked this weekend and it is back on the wagon now. No more cigs haha! My friends and wife are bad influences. My wife will quit smoking too but she will be like "Goh I want a cigarette." This weekend I knew I wouldn't be able to not smoke any, so I just accepted the fact and smoked. Smoking on Chantix makes some people sick though. It also makes the cigarette not quite as enjoyable. I will quit though. I am not discouraged by this weekend. That was a chioce I made (even if many people think it was a bad one.) I havenotgone five full days without smoking a cigarette since I was in elementary school. So I know if I made it that far last week, I can quit.

If anything Jonny Boy, think of it as doing it to keep your child from being exposed from the smoke...present that to your wife also..it will make it easier on her to quit also with you..
I did it for my 1st born 30 years ago and never picked up the Bad Habit again...and it is a Habit...I smoked at least 3 to 4 packs a day...when you own your own business...you can do that ..I stopped with 2 full cartons in the ice box, and 3 open pacs sitting around everywhere's ...cold turkey only...never once did I ever light one up again...
