Nafango: Horsepower is determined by multiplying torque times rpm and dividing by a constant (5252 if torque is in ft.lbs.) To say that HP is more important than torque EVER shows ignorance in what the numbers actually mean.

Velo: Good point! Who cares why other people don't get an Accord?!? We have them and we love them!!!!! That's all that matters!!!

Definitely and knock on wood I have the automatic from 99, although my car was built in Japan.

Ok, I think I am post whoring but I forgot to mention one thing: I almost have close to 160,000 miles on my car original transmission lol. What is post whoring? Falk they were saying you did that when I checked one of the threads, but I didn't see you write like 10 posts in a row.

as for this ridiculous thread. who cares if you want an Accord or not? we arent here to convince you. either you want one or you dont. make the decision yourself. we obviously all have Accords and i feel no need to defend that.
Why is this thread ridiculous? I'm looking for feedback from ACTUAL accord owners as to reasons they may have come to not like their car.

For example, with my grand prix, I loved the super-reliable 3800 series engine, good gas mileage, and overall a pretty nice looking car. But, after driving it for a few years, the things that drove me insane were all the road/wind noise, the TONS of squeaks and rattles, etc.

I think before anyone makes a big purchase they should have an idea of what could go wrong down the road.

As far as transmissions go - there seems to be some differing opinions on when it was fixed. It sounds like 03 is still sketchy, and 04 has some problems still? So I'd have to go as new as 05???

Hi all,

I'm deciding between a few cars here, and am looking for some feedback. There's a lot to like about Accords - but what might I not like?

A few things I'm considering:
- not much torque overall for a newer V6
- the "everyone has one" boring effect
- possible transmission problems? (what year was this resolved?)

Anything else I might not like if I decide on an accord? Post your gripes here!

FWIW, my last car was a Grand Prix GT (3.8L V6, 200hp/200ft-lb tq roughly). I found that car even with that much power to not have as much low end grunt as I'd like.
just because everyone has an accord doesnt mean that 2 accords are identical when you start modding them.
and you can add more torque with a few simple bolt-on mods

its ridiculous because we all chose Accords and we made the decision you cant seem to make. so we obviously think the pros outweigh the cons.

*edit* post whoring is just posting a lot. what you did isnt post whoring, but thread jacking. which is usually rude.

haha if you've ever been to gp-owners.com or wbody.com I used to post there. The Accord would spank the GP, maybe not off the line but if you had a 3800 you KNOW how they fall on their face after 65mph... NO MORE, not with this v6. The rode noise is much less, I can hardly hear my engine unless I romp on it (bad.. but good). The transmission makes a clunk when going into D for the first time of the day from reverse, but the tranny is still running strong. Get a warranty if you are that worried Or buy certified.

the cons: its a major PITA to work on.
the pros: you dont have to work on it as much as a domestic.
