Wow. This is the worst biased survey/study I have seen. The sample size is obviously skewed. I guess Ford has stooped down to the level where they can only spread their own ignorant propaganda to get sales. Very, very sad. They used an AWD Fusion vs. just the FWD Camry and Accord. $10 says they also used a 6 cylinder vs. the 4 cylinder Accord and Camry. The only thing that the Fusion has is its Euro-styling...most likely borrowed from the Jaguar and Land Rover division.
Shame on you, Ford. Shame on you. I can only view GM and Chevy as genuine American cars.
Let's do a rundown...shall we? (Don't forget Japanese makers routinely underrate their engines....I think Ford does too)
Ford Fusion

Honda Accord

And for fun: Nissan Altima
[hr]Engine Electronics [hr]DOHC 16-valve
QR25DE [hr] [hr]DOHC 24-valve
VQ35DE
[hr] [hr]Displacement [hr]2.5L (152 cu. in.) [hr] [hr]3.5L (213 cu. in.) [hr] [hr]Horsepower (SAE net @ rpm) [hr]175 @ 6000 [hr] [hr]250 @ 5800 [hr] [hr]Torque (lb.-ft. @ rpm) [hr]180 lb @ 4000 [hr] [hr]249 @ 4400

I'm sorry to say that the Altima is looking as a better competitor to the Accord than the Camry or Fusion. And Nissan underestimates their horsepower by a lot. I'm talking about at least 15-20.

Ouch...my posts have no value.
Ahhh....oh well. That's what a forum is. Yeah, new cars are fun to drive no matter what the brand is....the automotive industry should just stop with this silly "im better than x company because of what i say" business. then again, the american public has the attention span of a flea so I guess I can't blame them. A nice dosage of common sense is needed.

RE: Ummm....
They may have fudged the tests but name a manufacturer that wouldn't put their car in the best light. I would love to drive the Fusion and think it's a sharp lookingride. Have Iactually driven one? No, but I will soon. If they wise up and offer the 3.5 V-6 with a six speed stick and sport suspension they could be a contender in the pseudo sport sedan arena.

^ That would be very attractive. Why don't auto manufacturer's ever deal what the consumer wants: large displacement, 6 speed, somewhat fuel efficient, emphasis on power
