Default Warranties

I paid $895 for my Accords bumper to bumper 100K Warranty, and it came certified with a powertrain warranty up to 100k included. I paid $19K for it including all the charges and the bumper to bumper warranty. Recently however, my uncle has acquired a dealer's license so I just plan to buy cars at wholesale prices through him from now on. What I wanted to know was whether or not warranties sold online are safe? Where would I take a car if I had a warranty problem?

I would NEVER trust a warranty sold by anyone other than the car manufacturer themself. Those online warranties you see are scams. if you actually have a warranty claim, they will find a way to deny it. That is, if they do not go bankrupt first. 3rd party warranty companies are nothing but crooks.

What about warranties from used car dealers? (I mean the good local ones with great reputations) There's a reputable dealer in my area called Condemi Motors and they offer warranties on all of thier cars bc they have thier own services garages in the dealer.

Dude thats how much I paid for 35,000 mile Drive-Tran only from a stealership. The 100k bumper to bumper wasn't cheap, over two grand I think. Then again my memory isn't the greatest. Sounds fishy to me...

I still wouldn't trust them. I've been burned by a warranty before and I will never be duped into buying one again. If you buy a used car, you shouldaccept the fact thatthere is no warranty on it. The odds are any repairs that would have to be performed during the warranty period will likely cost less than the warranty does in the first place. How do you think they make money?

Insurance is not a rip off like warranties are though. No (educated)person within the insurance industry buys warranties because we know they are rip offs. If they come with a car for free, then great. If you try to sell me one....no thanks. The warranty problem happened when i was fresh out of college and a complete noob in insurance.

I want to buy a massive insurance policy that they are not going to change my friggen Javits project. So far, we have almost 40 designs and it looks like the entire expansion is going to be scrapped! Oh well, in this industry that's known as a perfect project! There were no mistakes if it was never built! As long as you get paid ....

... but it is pretty annoying!

Haha! I don't think that is insurable! You could call Lloyds of London and find out though. they will insure almost anything. i.e. a Quarterback's arm, "hole in one" prizes at golf course (no, the golf course doesn't really pay for the prize - Lloyds of London or whatever insurance they bought will pay for it if someone actually gets a hole in one), etc..
