WATER PUMP!!!

WATER PUMP!!!
I have a 99 Accord LX with 132000 miles and the timing belt and water pump where changed. However the water pump was faulty and is now leaking slightly out of the weep hole (about the size of a circle 1.5 inches around after about 20 minutes of running.) but when the car is warm it leaks not nearly as much. Is it a bad idea to drive around like this. I have 2 jugs of pre-mix antifreeze in my trunk so if i do overheat (i drove about 110 miles today and now temp. problems at all). I need awnsers ASAP!!!

RE: WATER PUMP!!!
do you have another car you can use? Usually, when fluid leaks out of that hole it means that the pump could crap out on you and your engine could over heat. If you must use the car, make sure you keep a close eye on the temp gauge, which I'm sure you have been doing. Even if it's a minor leak, you need to get it fixed. Good luck!

If you know what a weep hole is, you prolly already know that when coolant starts leaking out of it, either the bearings in your water pump are shot or one of the gaskets is bad. Change the waterpump before its stops working. If the water pump is faulty, you should be able to get a new one for free since it should have some warranty on it.

oh yes....NEVER use stop leak. I did once, when I was maybe 17, and stupid. Clogs up coolant flow, engine gets hot because of it, melts away stop leak, back to square one, except it usually leaves you worse off. That stuff should be illegal.
