Premium also contains more cleaning agent for your injectors and intake valves. Over time that matters.

Any engine with a knock sensor will retard the timing with 87 and produce a little less power.

For my money shell v-power is the best; my cars / bikes run better.

NJ has the cheapest gas AND they have to pump it for you. WTF?

This is false, stop giving incorrect information. Cleaning agents are the same over the octane grades and they DO NOT give you more power, that doesn't even make sense. The only purpose of higher octane is to prevent preignition for high compression motors, preventing knock. Running higher octane fuel on a car that doesnt require it is totally useless.

Yup I agree with velcifero, and I've heard you actually get the best gas mileage with the grade that your manufacturer recommends. I use 87 by the way, and my uncle has a bunch of unbranded gas stations and he sells his gas at a penny above cost so I usually go there. I know the gas is clean too because if my uncle sells me bad gas, my mom would kick his *** =).
