Default What worst car have you bought ever?

Hi to all,

I bought this one. Just look at this.

‘It’s a fun-size Audi TT! Only without the fun! In fact it was dreadful to drive – utterly gutless. But the worst thing was you felt such a prat driving it. When I went to drive it, I really did feel like Noddy and Big Ears.

1970 Opel Kadett station wagon.
Actually, I was in college, we had a 1967 VW type-3 squareback. With rusty rocker panels, it had no defrosters. So one day my dad saw this Opel & didn't even drive it. He just turned on the defroster fan & said "Ill take it".

Burned oil, had an auto-tranny that would always flare-shift between 1&2 and it got about 12 mpg.

1988 Mercedes 560SEL

Money pit. Even Mercedes techs didn't know how to fix them.

If Mercedes goes down, I couldn't be happier.

1987 Toyota Tercel. The car would not EVER restart when it was hot. If you opened the window even a crack, the wind would blast you right in the face. The headlight glass was so thin that even the smallest rock would poke a hole in it. Did I say it wouldn't start when it was hot? Terrible car.

Default Worst luck with cars

This should be titled, "Why I want/own a Honda Accord".

I have had some junkers. Let's see, the worst car ever was not the fault of the car but the super shady place my mom bought it from. 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. They put sawdust in the oil to seal the rear seal. 3months later, the engine blew, threw two rods, and I was out about 40 miles from home around midnight in a bad part of town. Walked to the gas station, bought five quarts of oil and smoked all the way home. Running on 4 cylinders. The mechanic still didn't beleive I drove it.

First car, prior to getting the Olds was a 1986 Ford Escort. Got it at a police auction for $200. It ran for a solid year. Had to put new brakes all around the car with new drums, rotors, calipers, lines, cost about $1000.00. It just died. Not that bad a car, just looked like hell.

Car to replace Olds, 2000 Deawoo Lanos. Don't buy a car from a manufacturer that also makes bicylces. Got into an accident, the person in front of me had no brake lights and I wasn't paying enough attention I guess. Car wasn't totaled, but should have been. It never ran right after that. Sold at a loss.

Wife's Jetta. It's right at 90k miles and everything is going wrong with it. We have spent about $2k in the last 3 months and it is in the shop again. The mechanic, a european car sepcialist guy even told us that once the car hits around 100k miles, a lot of things go wrong with them. Once you fix all of those things, he has seen it all, it will run for another 100 k miles. I hope he is right because I am trying to get a 7th gen coupe and I can't afford to sink more money into this stupid german junk.

I've actually never had a bad car. I do remember the only car my parents ever bought that was a piece of junk was an early 80's (maybe even late 70's) model Audi. Not sure what model it was. I was still in elementary school and I just thought it was cool because it had a sunroof. I don't remember much else about the car because we didn't have it for very long. My dad was always good at fixing cars but he gave up on that one really fast haha. It just stuck in my head since childhood "never buy an Audi."
But I guess you can get a lemon anywhere. I have always heard bad things about Audi - or German cars in general though.

Bought a 1994 s10 4X4 blazer for the winter. my accord is low and parents were being weird about the weather and my safety. payed 600 for it. it started, ran, and drove, well too....at first. four wheel drive wouldnt engage(whats the point of buying it?) first it starts killing my battery, then it begs for a tune up. so i attempt to fix the electrical and do a tuneup. drive it for about a month and one day my transmission stops upshifting and i lose all my gears beyond second. typical blazer tranny problem/failure of that time. engine ran beautifully until the fuel line started leaking a week later. guess what? i still own this truck and no one will buy it for parts :P oh and i forgot to mention 10 MPG!!!

went back to my accord and put winter tires on it for the same price i payed the blazer and it out did most other vehicles in the snow. what was i thinking?
