I currently own a Honda accord and love it! In addition,I am doing a project for my marketing class, and it involves the new 8th generation accord , most namely the accord coupe. For purrposes of my project , I would love if ANY OF YOU that drive an ACCORD(willingly not forced) answer the following questions :

1) Why did you buy the accord vs other brands ? (For ex. price? , good gas mileage? family car? , fuel effieciency? Quality, etc)
2) What kind of image do you think honda accord protrays or convey?
3) What do you think of the new 8th generation accord coupe that is coming out? Do you think its target to sportier consumers will work? What kind of consumers do you think will drive the new coupe?

3. I have zero use for a two door car so I won't comment on it. The sportier look and increased horsepower will appeal to the 30 something age bracket.

1)I am 16 and had my mom buy it for me to drive to school. She liked my decision because it had a great fuel economy and a real safe looking car.
2)A very trustworthy car. It will hardly ever break down and will outlast the majority of the other cars in your garage.
3)I had the first impressionthat it is sporty yet it is not trying to be a Corvette or a Skyline. First impressions aren't everything, you know. It will grow on everyone, like the 7th generation did, and will be as, if not more, popular than its predecessor.
I think it will get to the sporty consumers, but it will also get to people who are looking for better gas mileage when it is $2.50 per gallon.
The car is for everyone. Seniors, tuners, teenagers, and the rest of the family.

That youre old and/or boring. The Accord is one of the dullest looking cars on the road.

I like it. Much meaner and sportier looking. I think it will draw in a bunch of consumers that normally wouldnt buy the Accord because of its sleep inducing apperance.

 

Its just a feeling one cant explain. There is a big diffrence in feeling when you go from a accord to say a altima or carmry. Just feel so much comfortable in a accord. it offers a smoothness plus sportyness. It everything in one.

 

1) (This is in reference to my 2000 LX) I got a good deal, the 5spd is a zippy, fun car to drive. I knew Hondas were reliable cars

3) I hate it. It is entirely too heavy for a coupe. Honda wasted their time making the engine more powerful because the extra weight evens it out with last years Accord.I think it is ugly as well. I would never buy one.

 

I have an 05 Accord EXL V6 Coupe.I bought it for the looks,performance and reliability.I also bought it for the resale when I decide to sell it.The new 08 Coupe has to many lines and angles.Trying to look like Camrys and Altimas.The car will probably appeal to sportier minded buyers.There are far to many people buying the Sedan,which makes the Coupe prices higher,even though it has 2 less doors.Less supply of Coupes.I traded my 07 Camry for this Accord Coupe.The Camry had transmission problems I would not put up with.
