I have my screen setup the same way.... all I have to watch for is when I have the shade up I have a huge bay window behind me.....and remember hold the windows key and press the letter "M" and everything on your screen minimizes, then just pull up your email and you look busy....
That's good info.
What I normally do is hold the "alt" key and press the "tab" key to go to the previous screen.
Actually because of so many options on the keyboard, I seldomly use the mouse.

LOL .... sirnasty FTW with the windows + M shortcut! I only knew 2 functions for that button, explorer and the start menu. Now I know 3! My office is fully open and anyone can see what's on my monitor. Most people here don't really know what I do so they don't ask. I'm an engineer in an architect/project office. There are about 8 or 9 firms represented where I work! Very laid back!

Nice! I like the Windows+M as well as the Alt+tab methods!
I have a window behind me too. Usually the shades are down though. There is a lake back there anyway so there is seldom anyone back there besides a few fishermen. There used to be a 6 or 7 ft gator that lived in there, but I haven't seen him in a year or two.

LOL @ Mississippi wildlife!!! They say there are gators in the NYC sewers! From the 18th floor, I'd be surprised, then confused if someone were looking in our windows!

As long as none are walking on the surface of thewater, you should be OK.

This threadreminds me of a joke I heard many years ago.

The Pope and his entourage are in one of the vast upperroomsof the Vatican that overlooks St. Peter's square.

The Pope is standing in front of one of the room's manylarge windows, while the rest of the Cardinals and Archbishops are lounging around, drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes.

The Popecasually turns andlooks out the window -gazing downat the mass of adoring pilgrims.

All of a sudden, he spots Jesus walking through the crowdjust below the window toward the building.

Pushing his face right upagainst the window to get a better look, the Pope seesThe Lordwalk right past the seemingly oblivious guards and rightthrough the building's main entrance.

With a very concerned look on his face, the Pope immediately turns around and shouts to his largeentourage - "Quick, look busy!"
