Default 88 Accord Suspension

I have an 88 Accord an I can't find any lowering springs or coilovers. Will lowering springs an coilovers that fit a 90s model Accord fit my Accord? Are the lowering springs and coilover from ebay any good?

I doubt you will find any... AMR might be able to make some custom coilovers, but Ive heard the lead time on those is huge lately.

And no eBay springs suck. Thats like giving nuclear codes to Sarah Palin.... (excuse my politics, lol)

Are custom coilovers expensive? Will 4th gen accord coilovers an springs fit on 3rd gen accord?

Thanx. What do the coilovers do for the suspension? Do they affect the ride highth at all?

They are usually adjustable in a few ways:

- Lower 0"-4"
- Adjustable shock firmness
- Sometime adjustable mounts

Most people just get them to adjust their ride height depending on the season and wheels they have on. They can drop you more than most springs, to the point where youre tucking tire, but not as low as air bags...

I got regular springs and shocks because I like my progressive rate springs for better handling, whereas coilovers typically use linear springs with a really stiff spring rate because they have to be able to hold up the car at their lowest setting without bottoming out.

So could you use aftermarket coilovers with stock springs and shocks?

Same as any other setup, except you have to install the controller and connect the bags to the air compressor... at least $2-3k for a full air runner setup.
