95 Accord Wagon Lowered
Hello everyone! Thanks in advance for any help. I searched all of the posts in the suspension section and didn't find any with the exact problem I'm having. I have a 1995 Honda Accord Wagon EX. 2.2 VTEC. I got some H&R Racing springs to lower it 2.2" in the front and 2" in the rear. It looked great once I lowered it but after lowering it was like rattling really bad under power. Not while coasting. Ony the engine or car feels like it rattles. Not the steering wheel. I thought it was doing this due to neg or pos camber. Not sure which. The wheels were pointing in at the top. So I got a camber kit put on the front and rear and 4 wheel alignment done. That didn't fix the problem. I took it back to the place that put onthe KYB grey struts all the way around and H&R springs. They showed me the upper control arm is hitting a part of the car. They cut the lip off of that piece but that didn't help it. I since got coil overs for the front and raised it some. It stopped rattling when I go straight but still does it some when I turn and accelerate at the same time. I would really like to fix this problem and lower it back down a little. Any ideas, suggestions, would be greatly appreciated. I have only had the car a short time and dont know if it has been in any accidents in the past but it looks normal to me under there. Also a side note, I had another 1995 honda accord EX wagon that I lowered and this did not happen on that one. The only difference is on the one I sold, I only changed the springs and not the springs and struts.

it almost sounds like your springs are off sized or mal adjusted or something.... are they a coilover type that you can adjust up or down? if you adjust them up does it go away? If I understand you correctly all you did was put in new springs on a stock replacement strut is that correct?

RE: 95 Accord Wagon Lowered
Hi,
Thanks for the response. No, I didn't only change the springs on this wagon. On my previous 1995 accord wagon I did only change the springs and didn't have this problem. Same amount of drop.I was just letting everyone know that's the only difference between that one and my current 1995 accord wagon.
On the one I'm posting about, I changed the struts and springs. KYB (grey ones) and H&R racing springs. After realizing the problem is when I went to coil overs in the front only and it did stop the rattling but only while going straight. It still rattles some while cornering under power. I'm really curious to know why this wagon same year, model, and everything would have this problem when the other one I had didn't. I'm wondering if maybe they replaced the upper control arms at some point and perhaps they're supposed to be different between the sedan and wagons. Not sure what is going on. It's frustrating though. Hope this helps with the diagnosis.
