Aftermarket vs Stock
Alright well here i go again... I need some more opinions.... Please let me know. So my dad took his 02 civic to the dealer and they said his front right and back left struts are leaking, so he asked me to replace them.. sad thing OEM is like 150 or so a strut if im not mistaking.... So, i said. just spend money and get some aftermarket company. What company should i choose to install for a nice ride comfort and what not. or should i just stick to OEM??

RE: Aftermarket vs Stock
KYG GR-2 and Tokico HP are both good aftermarket struts that arent adjustable. KYB AGX and Tokico Illuminas, along with Bilstein HD and Koni Sports are adjustable, but more expensive.
My Koni's were roughly $145/strut and they're fully adjustable heavy duty struts.
They should be replaced in axle pairs so the damping is balanced from side to side, so he's looking at buying 4 new struts.

hahahaha. I think over 50 posts and you become a "senior" member... what BS ahah.
I have H&R Race springs and my Koni's are at their highest "firm" setting. Supposedly when they are at 0 they ride like OEM. If it were my dads car and my word, I'd go with the OEM-spec Tokico or KYB and save a few pennies... unless he wants that nice, firm ride.
