Car ramps
anyone know of a good set of car ramps for a lowered accord. finally got my suspension work done and want to change my oil and the car is low. heard of people puttin boards infront of lifts and ramps to make it work, i'm confused like a 2x8 or wider, and does this really work. thanks

RE: Car ramps
My car is not lowered but requires boards in front of standard ramps so it doesn't scrape. I went to Home Depot and bought an 8 foot 2X6 from the best wood they had. Then it was cut in half. To change oil I put out the ramps and put the 2X6's in front of them checking carefully that things are lined up. Zip! Up it goes and I'll bet you can achieve the same without scraping. The angle of the ramps determines how long the approach boards need to be.
The lower the car, the longer the approach to the ramp.

RE: Car ramps
ive seen these small ramps before. there so you can raise the car enough to get a regular jack underneath. im pretty sure they are called "tomioka racing super slopes" http://www.tomiokaracing.com/ should give ousome info. seems kinda pricey tho when you could just use a couple of 2x4s.

yeah this totally worked i used like a 2x10 bout 3 ft long drove up on those then the ramps. still was a pain getting under the car for the filter, but it was done.
